Frank Kortan is fascinated by the most perfect technique of painting called trompe-l’oeil (the puzzlement of eyes). It is an unique style of painting based on the almost three-dimensional illusion. Nevertheless, this style does not satisfy him because it represents only still lives. He intends to combine trompe-l’oeil with fantastic realism in order to express his emotions and ideas. His paintings have been exhibited in several individual or collective exhibitions. They are a part of private collections or the collections of public institutions e.g. Museo d’Arte Mendrisio (Switzerland), Museum Buttenheim (Germany).
